Nausea is the unpleasant sensation of being about to vomit. It can occur alone or can accompany vomiting.
Nausea and vomiting are typical symptoms of a disease or condition such as food poisoning, infection, pregnancy, stomach problems, diabetes or medication. It is important to control nausea and vomiting to prevent severe dehydration.
For safety reasons, we do not treat DIARRHEA or SEVERE forms of nausea or vomiting. Often times, an IV medication is indicated in patients who are unable to hold down food/water.
We prescribe anti-nausea medications such as Ondansetron, Compazine or Reglan.
